In the early 1950s crawl space foundation vents were introduced to eliminate humidity in crawlspaces. Over time contractors and inspectors realized the vents that were installed to remove humidity in fact helped to increase the humidity level in most crawlspaces. They allow hot humid air in the summer months to enter the cool environment of a crawlspace. The humid air would condense and create higher humidity levels under your home.

This would eventually lead to mold and fungus growth. Now building codes are changing to allow builders to construct conditioned crawlspaces without crawl space foundation vents. Conditioning the crawl space is the practice of removing all components that cause moisture. ie: leaking pipes, broken dryer vents, ground water entering through the foundation, etc. A proper vapor barrier needs to be installed to prevent moisture from evaporating from the soil into the home.

After the clean space has been created the air in the crawlspace can be conditioned by one of several different ways depending on the crawlspaces individual situation. All components need to be in place or the desired results will not be achieved. Crawlspace Doctor has developed systems to properly condition crawlspaces.

Georgia South East Customer Testimonials

My husband and I requested quotes for our crawl space from a few contractors.  Greg came out and did a survey then came back the same evening to meet my husband and explain to him the needs of our home.  We were most impressed with Greg and his team.  They did a stellar job and their follow up is unsurpassed.  I would recommend Crawlspace Doctor - Savannah to  anyone who is looking for an honest and quality outcome.  Thanks guys!

When we saw the ad for the Crawlspace Doctor in our local publication we recognized the ‘before’ picture.  It looked just like our crawlspace. Resembling a Halloween House of Horrors, the insulation in our crawlspace hung in strips, and our wood beams were covered with mildew.  In the past we had replaced the insulation twice and we had covered the floor of the crawlspace with sheets of plastic.  But the situation continued to worsen.  We called Greg McBride, the Crawlspace Doctor, and he and his crew worked a miracle.  They turned our crawlspace into the ‘after’ picture.  We especially like the built-in dehumidifier that removes moisture, prevents mildew and helps keep the crawlspace temperature at a constant 70 degrees.  Our whole house is warmer now as a result of our crawlspace makeover and we earned a tax credit as a bonus.

I am glad that I had Greg McBride fix up my crawl space. I had an estimate given to me about a year ago but finally decided about six months ago to have the work done. I have not regretted it at all. Greg's team was efficient, professional and effective. I have heard from Greg on several occasions since he completed the work. He continues to ensure that I am satisfied. I have found him to also be responsive to my questions and needs concerning the crawl space. I plan to be in this house for many years to come and feel secure knowing that moisture is not collecting under the house.

Imagine my surprise when Greg and his crew showed up ON TIME, completed the job ON SCHEDULE and left ON BUDGET!

On 2 occasions I've asked him to return to make some adjustments and again his response was prompt.

Our crawlspace is clean but most importantly dry.  The temperature is also as promised within 5 or 10 degree's of the temperature in the house.

While I have not had 'tea' in my crawl space, I will admit to falling asleep in it while working on another project.

The crawl space doctors' prescription for my house was, as the British would say: 'spot on' and I am completely satisfied.
